DIRECT HIRE: Seeking an experienced, professional, team player in the Boston, MA. area.
A North American subsidiary of a multi-billion-dollar global company with 70+ locations, responsible for sales of Industrial laser equipment and systems. Field Applications Engineers work as a part of the Laser Application Center group supporting industrial customers primarily at their facility for company systems technologies. In this role you will be assisting the customer with production run-off support after machine installation, system programming support, training, and post-sale applications support. You will be a part of a highly skilled team of laser and material experts. You will be traveling to different customers throughout North America and your goal is to provide best in class customer satisfaction.
Pay Range: $32 - $42hr + OT (depending on experience)
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Field application support and training at customers facilities
- Manage and execute customer application trials and demonstrations, including communication with customers, evaluating technical requirements, preparing, and processing customer applications, writing reports and following up with customers
- Support complex application projects at the customer and company sites
- Communicate directly with customers regarding applications and technology
- Act as an internal consultant on materials science related to laser processing
- Routine communication with Laser Application Center in company Competence Centers regarding new applications
- Support Regional Sales Managers and Industry Managers with strategic and key applications
- Taking responsibility for strategic application
- Support applications in at least two different technologies
- Escalation coordination • Support customers on project development
- Contribution on “info Application”
Travel
- 100% travel both domestically and internationally as required
- Must maintain Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain Passport
- Overnights required
Education & Experience
- 2-year technical degree or a 4-year degree in engineering (mechanical, welding preferred).
- Operate and program company equipment or have prior experience operating similar equipment
- 2-5 years of relevant practical experience
- Good understanding on fundamentals of laser materials processing, including laser, process and material parameters, and laser safety
- Independently setup and execute application trials
- Write application reports, research reports and statements of work
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical machine data
- Solve customer’s problems independentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skills
