Position Overview: Boyd is seeking a dynamic application engineer to join our team and drive sales growth and technical prowess. The application engineer will partner with Boyd sales and engineering, providing technical support to customers aligning application requirements with Boyd Solution. The application engineer will assist the Business development Executive in the identification of new opportunities and customers within the market segment, building customer relationships, and educating customers on Boyd’s capabilities and products. The candidate must be capable of understanding mechanical drawings, statistical analysis, problem resolution, and operating lab equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides solutions for various customer-specific applications.
- Oversees and develops detailed instructions for customer implementation plans.
- Oversees and develops the publication of technical information on specific applications.
- Interfaces with design, manufacturing engineering, and production personnel to develop solutions and ensure successful implementation.
- Make product evaluation and qualification test plan and perform them.
- Oversees, develops, and presents product presentations and applications notes for Socket and Thermal Test and interface products.
- Provides customer support for Socket and Thermal Test Products Issues
- Will be required to help install and troubleshoot products at customer sites.
- Develop presentations and presents information to technical management and industry groups.
- Provides technical support to Boyd sales staff in determining feasibility of products for customer requirements.
- Coordinates with Marketing and Product Managers to define, support, and implement new Sockets and Thermal Test products.
- May serve as a company liaison on specific and complex technical products.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in Engineering and/or Field Application Engineer/Sales Engineer role. Direct experience in Burn-in and Test socket and Thermal Test products preferred or equivalent amount of time in hands-on test floor experience with an emphasis on set-up of test hardware and issue resolution.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field, or equivalent Manufacturing technology experience.
- Ability to work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.
- Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Develop presentations and presents information to technical management and industry groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with Solid Works is preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed, including international.
