Do you have an eye for detail and enjoy solving problems? Sportsman Boats is looking for an experienced Fiberglass Quality Control Technician who will inspect finished boat parts looking for defects. This person must be passionate about ensuring high quality standards are maintained on a daily basis. This is a vital role in the production of Sportsman Boats.

What you will do:.
- Perform quality control audits to approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual inspection and measurement tests with basic tools, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work
- Inspect boat surfaces for defects such as air bubbles, cuts, cracks, chips, and thickness of fiberglass, etc.
- Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, instruction, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports
- Work closely with department managers, supervisors, and team leads to ensure good quality product and workmanship standards are being met
- Document findings and make appropriate recommendations for improvement
- Participate in improving the work environment through 5S standards
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
To be considered you must have:
- Understanding of the boat building process
- Minimum 2 years stable work history in the boating or automotive finishing industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including documentation and record keeping skills
- Be self-starter, have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
- Confidence in decision making; willing to push back on production staff when quality or workmanship standards are not being met
- Strong execution capability, time-management skills, and multi-tasking; ability to quickly shift priorities in support of production needs
- Ability to use common hand tools, meters, gauges and other associated test and measurement equipment
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards
- Ability to work in fast-paced, ever changing environment
