We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Fertility Specialist MD to join our dynamic team. As a Fertility Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care and support to patients seeking fertility treatment. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) practice.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment. This includes conducting initial assessments, performing physical examinations, and developing personalized treatment plans.
- Fertility Treatment: Collaborate with the REI team to coordinate and administer fertility treatments, including ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), and embryo transfers. Monitor patients throughout their treatment cycle, adjusting medications and protocols as necessary.
- Reproductive Procedures: Assist physicians during reproductive procedures, such as oocyte retrievals, embryo transfers, and ultrasound-guided procedures. Ensure proper documentation and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on fertility treatment options, procedures, and medications. Provide emotional support and counseling throughout the fertility journey, addressing any concerns or questions that arise.
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as hormone level assessments, ultrasound scans, and genetic screenings. Communicate test results to patients and collaborate with physicians to determine the most appropriate course of action.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all interactions, treatments, and outcomes. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, as well as clinic policies and procedures.
- Research and Quality Improvement: Stay updated on the latest advancements in fertility treatments and participate in ongoing professional development activities. Contribute to research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- MD from Accredited Medical School + Residency Trained in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Internal Medicine + Endocrinology Fellow, or similar. Active CT License or willing to obtain.
- Fertility Expertise: Demonstrate a strong background in fertility and reproductive health. Previous experience in a reproductive endocrinology and infertility practice is highly preferred.
- REI Knowledge: Familiarity with reproductive endocrinology and infertility treatments, including ovulation induction, IUI, IVF, and embryo transfers. Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests and understanding reproductive procedures is essential.
- Clinical Skills: Exhibit excellent clinical skills, including performing physical examinations, administering medications, and conducting patient assessments. Ability to handle reproductive procedures with precision and attention to detail.
- Communication and Empathy: Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and provide emotional support throughout their fertility journey. Ability to explain complex medical information in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Organization and Documentation: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patients and treatment cycles simultaneously. Attention to detail in documenting patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to contribute to research projects and quality improvement initiatives.
