Status: Non-Exempt
Employment Type: Variable-Hour (10-20 hours)
Responsibilities
- Take an active role and participation as a CIAT student ambassador to:
- Participate in virtual events including new student orientation, certification workshops, and career services workshops.
- Participate in student tutoring sessions for course labs and assignments (live virtual sessions for individual and small group study sessions).
- Participate in student certification exam preparation initiatives (live virtual sessions for individual and small group study sessions).
- Support student communication outreach for on-campus final exams, student drop survey collection, missing student documentation collection, and more.
- Assist with CIAT reporting initiatives including:
- End-of-course survey report reconciliation and review.
- Website analytics (traffic patterns, search engine rankings).
- Marketing data reports (email, blog content, industry insights).
- Data collection and review to ensure recurring reports are kept up to date.
- Support testing and debugging of business reporting tasks including:
- Reviewing Handshake employer profiles to ensure they meet department guidelines.
- Evaluating job postings and industry trends.
- Maintenance of records of employer correspondence and requests.
- Contribute ideas to new data reporting, website, and student portal features and pilot projects.
- Adhere to regulations as set forth by governing agencies and institutional policies.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled at California Institute of Applied Technology and eligible for Federal Work Study.
- Must be in good academic standing, which includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and 80% attendance.
- Completed CIAT courses BDA103A/B or demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Completed CIAT courses CDA105 or prior experience with Microsoft Power BI a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Independent problem-solver with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey information and interact with students, colleagues, and others.
- Possess a sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals.
- Takes a customer-service-oriented approach to collaborate with internal departments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to support student success, achieve CIAT goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required. This position must not exceed 20 hours per week.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Ability to type, use a computer to search for information and input information while speaking on the phone is required.

- The employee will be required to compute simple to simple mathematical calculations as a normal part of this role.
