About the Job
- Lead the preparation and submission of annual federal and state tax returns
- Manage and file federal and state tax extensions with accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee the processing of federal and state estimated tax payments
- Handle all IRS-related correspondence and ensure swift resolution of inquiries
- Prepare quarterly income tax provisions, incorporating year-to-date results for multiple entities
- Partner with external tax advisors to coordinate reviews of tax returns and provisions
- Oversee 1099 filing, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and effective management of third-party processors
- Prepare non-profit tax returns for designated entities
- Contribute to year-end footnote disclosures for the company's annual audit
- Manage property tax filings across a variety of jurisdictions nationwide (excluding Salt Lake County)
- Ensure precise and timely completion of quarterly tax returns
- Produce accurate income tax expense and provision forecasts, aligning with both year-round needs and the annual budget cycle
- Conduct thorough technical tax research to stay compliant with new tax laws and regulations
- Ensure all IRS and regulatory deadlines are met
- Continuously refine and improve tax analysis and reporting processes to drive efficiency and innovation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is required; A Master's degree is a plus
- Active CPA license is desired
- At least five years of tax accounting experience; Knowledge of the insurance industry is a bonus
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of GAAP or SSAP accounting principles; Proficiency in accounting software and tools, including Excel, Word, and QuickBooks
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills and a meticulous approach to numbers and regulations
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly and effectively convey critical financial information
- Innovation and Initiative: Eager to introduce improvements and contribute to a culture of continuous growth
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
