CDM Smith is seeking an experienced manager to join our Federal Services Unit (FSU). The successful candidate will lead the application of CDM Smith’s business development process to win U.S. government contracts and projects. The manager will supervise a nationwide team of marketing professionals. That team supports the FSU client services leaders in identifying and evaluating sales opportunities and in developing proposals to win new engagements. This role involves coordinating workloads to maximize staff skillsets and effectiveness, identifying training needs, and ensuring equitable training opportunities. The Marketing Manager will ensure consistency and quality control across the unit’s proposal centers and define best practices to deliver superior marketing and communications products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with FSU’s sales staff to apply CDM Smith’s formal business development process, including the development of client business plans and opportunity capture plans, review of strategic proposals and presentations, and client and competitor intelligence gathering.
• Develop and monitor annual marketing and sales plans and business development budgets in collaboration with unit leadership.
• Serve as proposal manager for highest-priority opportunities.
• Manage the schedule of proposals and other marketing deliverables, assigning and monitoring FSU Marketing resources to services these projects.
• Supervise assigned staff, providing feedback on performance.
• Mentor assigned staff to foster their long-term development.
• Lead development and delivery of FSU sales-related training courses.
• Track, monitor, and analyze the unit’s business development performance statistics, and drive continuous improvement of business analytics tools.
• Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer and other business unit marketing leads on the continuous improvement of firmwide marketing/sales tools and procedures.
• Lead firm-wide marketing task forces and committees and evaluate or troubleshoot existing business development and proposal processes and systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• 12 years of related experience with at least 5 of those years in a management or supervisory capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
