This new position exists to coordinate the development and submission of monthly Federal Funding and Transparency Act (FFATA) reporting. These duties will be accomplished through Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) technical operations expertise and the establishment of standard operating procedures for tracking and collection of related data from agency staff. SWIFT activities will span General Ledger, Commitment Control (Budgets), Accounts Payable, and Federal Grants and Reporting. The candidate hired for this position will play a critical role in ensuring the department's business processes related to federal grant tracking and reporting are integrated with SWIFT technical operations.
Working as a Federal Financial Reporting Specialist you will:
- Coordinate the development and submission of monthly Federal Funding and Transparency Act (FFATA) to ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements.
- Analyze, design, develop and implement SWIFT Warehouse-based reports used for MDH functional staff, accountants, budget managers and fiscal analysts.
- Establish standard operating procedures for tracking and collection of related data from agency staff.
This position will have the option of teleworking; however, it will be based on the business needs of the unit and is at supervisory discretion.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
Three (3) years of financial management experience. This experience must include:
- Analysis, design, development of reports.
- Ability to run accounting system reports and translate data using state accounting systems and data warehouses.
- Ability to provide analysis, qualitative and quantitative to query, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
Minimum qualifications to be assessed during the interview process:
- Human relations skill sufficient to maintain ongoing positive relationships with staff and managers at all levels of the organization, department leadership, Minnesota Management and Budget and federal reporting and payment system personnel.
- Organization and coordination skills sufficient to manage multiple active assignments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in the use of Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT).
- Familiarity with Federal Funding and Transparency Act (FFATA) reporting.
