FASHION MERCHANDISER
Retrofete.com is an ecommerce destination for the ultimate globe trotter and party girl, offering a comprehensive, one-of-a-kind shopping experience that fulfills every fashion-forward girl’s wardrobe needs to take her from day to night, and city to beach.
Reporting to the VP of Buying and Merchandising, and working closely with the President, Creative Director, Web Manager, and Art Director, the Fashion Merchandiser will be responsible for executing an exceptionally strong visual representation of Retrofete and Third Party Brands offered on Retrofete.com. This role requires both analytical and creative talent with experience in fashion ecommerce. Additionally, a strong knowledge of women's contemporary and luxury fashion is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for merchandising brand and category pages to maximize sales, as well as curating and maintaining trend focused assortments to support features and campaigns
Ensure Retrofete.com offers an exceptional customer shopping experience through the execution of our merchandising strategy from a category and end use perspective
This includes creating compelling, customer-driven merchandise assortments and hind sighting on assortment performance
Ensure timely releases of product to the site with accountability for accurate product information
Validate all site assortments, including product categories, brand pages, trend assortments, and special promotions
Execute product placement, visibility of key items, and priority placement of marketed products on all applicable pages
Curate assortments to support featured stories, editorials, and marketed newsletters
Maintain seasonal and trend assortments to support large campaigns and promote discovery
Provide site linking based on feature creative and copy, as well as Facebook advertising that aligns with current merchandising strategy
Leverage site analytics to understand performance and customer interactions with brands, categories, and other assortments
Identify and work with cross functional partners to resolve any issues that may arise
Manage additional special products as needed
REQUIREMENTS
4-6 years of experience working for a web retailer or brand in the women’s contemporary market
Keen eye for fashion trends and strong understanding and knowledge of brands in the contemporary, advanced contemporary, and luxury markets
Strong knowledge of current fashion trends, designers and products, and a passion for styling and merchandising
Ability to problem solve and have a solutions focused attitude
Motivated self-starter who can both collaborate on existing process as well as develop new strategies to grow the Retrofete.com business
Strong computer literacy and an understanding of the digital world
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a team based dynamic as well as liaise with cross-functional teams
Exceptional attention to detail
Bachelor's degree
