RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Adelante Mujeres Market Access team in the Microenterprise Department, the Farmers Market Waste Center Crew Member provides logistical and customer service support to the Forest Grove and Cornelius Farmers Markets. They will promote a community space for family engagement, intercultural exchange, and food access, in addition to supporting local small businesses that are vendors of the markets. At Adelante Mujeres, one of our values is to love and respect the earth. This role is a steward to our sustainability efforts in our Farmers Markets. This role will also supervise and direct volunteers for our Waste Center. The Farmers Market Waste Center Crew Member will report to the Farmers Market Coordinator.
- Lead the setup and takedown of the Waste Center at the Farmers Market, including other setup and takedown tasks.
- Lead reusable dishware program at Forest Grove and Cornelius Farmers Markets, including working with vendors, customers, and Commercial Kitchen to transport, distribute, collect, and clean reusable dishware
- Dispose of recycling and other waste properly as needed during and at the end of the market
- Maintain a clean and family-friendly dining and restroom area by sanitizing tables, picking up trash, moving tables and chairs, etc.
- Lead the data collection and organization for Farmers Market reporting about the Waste Center
QUALIFICATIONS

- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Bilingual-Bicultural English/Spanishpreferred
- Ability to problem solve independently and work effectively in a team
- Experience with deescalating situations and approaching conflicts with patience and non-violent communication
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work evenings in outdoor settings with exposure to typical Oregon weather conditions
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of up to 40 pounds
- Twist, bend, reach, stoop, carry weight, think strategically about how to properly move heavy items
- Prolonged walking and standing
- COVID-19 vaccine and boosters required except for religious or medical accommodation
- Complete Criminal Background Registry enrollment letter for facility number CC503161
- Possess or ability to obtain Oregon Food Handler's Permit (or acquired within 30 days from date of hire)
SALARY & BENEFITS
- Hourly rate: $21.50 per hour
- Classification: Seasonal, minimal part-time (up to 19.99 hours per week)
- Schedule: Wednesdays 1pm - 9:30pm, Fridays 1pm - 9:30pm, and occasional Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays through November 2025
- Benefits: Sick Time: 1 hour accrued per 30 hours worked, Paid Holidays: prorated based on hours worked current month.
