LSI announces a gratifying opportunity for a Family Support Specialist for our Early Childhood program in the XX county area.
DUTIES
Want to make a difference in the life of children and families? Family Support Specialists (FSS) offer home visits to expectant parents and caregivers of small children, providing parenting education, support, and advocacy. Family Support Specialists link parents to resources, promote optimal child health and development, and problem solve with parents. Family needs and abilities are evaluated on an ongoing basis. Family Support Specialists assist families in designing individualized support plans and empower families overtime to achieve their chosen goals. Our home visitation program is part of a nationwide initiative designed to empower families to become and remain healthy and strong.
This position will primarily meet with clients in the home and maintain contact via telephone.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in a health, education, or human service related field and one year of related experience working with children and families.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
