EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO SUPPLEMENT THE EXISTING EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT WEST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF JEFFERSON COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM - HEAD START.
This employment list will also be used for future EAST AND WEST Jefferson vacancies in this Department as they occur.
KIND OF WORK:
Under general supervision, the primary role of this position is the recruitment, enrollment, attendance and engagement of the families of children in our program through services, practices, support and activities. Incumbent of this position will be required to perform professional and administrative work. Employee is responsible for coordinating the needs of families with other community organizations which promotes family self-sufficiency. Implement and ensure all areas of Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA). Responsible in recruitment, selection and enrollment of families of eligible children, B-5, including pregnant women. Report and document parent complaints, enrollment, attendance, and family programming to supervisors. Identify needs and goals based on PFCE Framework (EHS and HS) to establish a Family Partnership, utilizing Needs Assessment and document in Child Plus. May require occasional evening and weekend work. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must meet ONE of the following:
1. Possession of an accredited Master's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral science.
OR
2. Possession of an accredited Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral science; PLUS, at least two (2) years of experience in the counseling of families and individuals on social service programs.
OR
3. Possession of an accredited Associate's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral science; PLUS, at least four (4) years of experience in the counseling of families and individuals on social service programs.
Preferred: Possession of the Basic Family Services Credential from the National Head Start Association (NHSA).
Proof of education is required and must be submitted at the time of application or immediately thereafter.
NOTE: Any conviction listed in the Louisiana Child Protection Act (LA R.S. 15:587.1) is considered disqualifying, unless written proof of pardon is submitted in time for consideration with the application.
