Family Nurse Practitioner - Abacus Solution Group

The Rappahannock Rapidan Health District is seeking a temp Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive health care services in all health clinic locations throughout the district (Counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Orange, Madison and Rappahannock) while our full-time NP is out on maternity leave. The candidate will provide patient care with limited or no on-site access to a physician for guidance and oversight in specialized clinics such as family planning, communicable disease and sexually transmitted infection. As well as, performing school entry physicals for children.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation with degree from an accredited FNP or PA program

• Licensed to practice in Virginia as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with authorization to prescribe.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population with varying literacy levels.

• Ability to provide care in a multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to appropriately treat and examine patients, as well as direct clinical staff as to appropriate follow up, treatment and when necessary, referral of patients for outside care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous practice in a public health setting

• Specialty training and/or experience in GYN, Family Planning, and Communicable and Sexually Transmitted Infections

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
