Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, property division, and other related matters.
- Conduct comprehensive research on legal issues, using various resources and databases.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and correspondence.
Interact with clients and maintain regular communication to provide updates, answer inquiries, and gather necessary information.
- Manage case files, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all relevant information and correspondence.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and other court appearances, while ensuring all necessary materials and documentation are prepared.
- Support attorneys during trials and hearings, including organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, and maintaining accurate records.
- Assist in factual investigations, document reviews, and case strategy development.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations pertaining to divorce and family law and provide updates to the team as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a paralegal in family/matrimonial law.
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Proficiency in legal research, including the use of online databases.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Proficient in using legal software and case management systems.
