Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of family law cases, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to family law matters.
- Prepare and organize discovery materials, including requests for production, interrogatories, and subpoenas.
- Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information and documents for case preparation.
- Manage case files, including organizing and maintaining electronic and physical records.
- Coordinate scheduling and calendar management for attorneys, including court appearances, meetings, and deadlines.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including filing, photocopying, and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a paralegal in family law.
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
