About the Job
Concordia University invites applicants for a part-time (less than 30 hours per week) Graduate Clinical Education Assistant in the School of Nursing located at the Mequon, WI campus. The Graduate Clinical Education Assistant works directly with the Co-Directors of the Graduate Nursing Program, graduate nursing faculty, and the Graduate Contract Coordinator to coordinate clinical placements in the nurse practitioner programs. This position requires maintaining credentials and curriculum vitae of clinical preceptors and clinical adjunct faculty, coordinating placement of clinical adjuncts with students, and monitoring adjuncts' performance. It requires maintaining a cooperative and collaborative relationship with didactic instructors, clinical adjunct faculty, students, staff, and professionals in clinical agencies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain electronic clinical database, including ProjectConcert, for students, adjuncts, and site placements
- Orient new adjunct clinical faculty to program. Orient returning adjunct clinical faculty to course expectations each semester. Communicate with adjunct clinical faculty regularly
- Monitor performance of adjunct faculty who are assigned to students, and provide feedback to program co-directors
- Work collaboratively with nurse practitioner didactic course instructors
- Process clinical placement site/preceptor requests proposed by students. Assign students to clinical adjunct faculty.
- Verify clinical requirements are met for all students
- Facilitate clinical adjunct faculty update meeting at least once a year
- Facilitate online clinical evaluation process with follow-up to students, adjunct clinical faculty and preceptors
- Create and monitor documents including grading forms, semester timelines, assignment guidelines, etc. Update handbooks as needed, facilitate the preparation of reports such as student clinical case logs and hour logs
- Communicate with graduate program co-directors regarding any problems related to clinical courses
- Process adjunct clinical faculty travel expense reimbursement forms
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Other tasks as assigned by co-directors
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Skilled in the use of software programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access, and familiar with working within a database and spreadsheets
- Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to detail
- Self-motivated, able to deal with interruptions, and work within deadlines
- Excellent professional written and oral communication skills to maintain a positive rapport with students, faculty, and coworkers
Education and/or Training
High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of two years of high-level administrative support experience is required. Previous work experience in an academic and/or in the nursing setting is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a part-time, under-30 hours per week, hourly position. Starting salary is dependent on individual qualifications and experience.
