Client Overview:
Our client is a prestigious higher education institution located in Princeton, NJ, dedicated to academic excellence and innovative research. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Faculty/Admin Assistant to join their dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that supports the scholarly and administrative needs of our faculty and students.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr
Position Overview:
The Faculty/Admin Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to faculty members and contribute to the smooth operation of the academic department. The ideal Faculty/Admin Assistant candidate will have prior experience in higher education administration, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities of the Faculty/Admin Assistant:
- Provide administrative support to faculty members, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of academic materials, including syllabi, course handouts, and examination materials
- Maintain accurate records and files related to faculty activities, student information, and departmental operations
- Coordinate travel arrangements and process travel reimbursements for faculty members
- Assist in organizing departmental events, such as seminars, conferences, and workshops
- Serve as a liaison between faculty, students, and other administrative departments
- Support faculty in the submission of grant proposals and research documentation
- Manage office supplies and ensure that the department’s administrative needs are met
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair or faculty members
Qualifications for the Faculty/Admin Assistant:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of administrative experience in a higher education setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is preferred
