Vista Hermosa manufactures the best Nixtamal corn and flour Tortillas in New York City and our mission is to provide healthy, nutritious and the most authentic food experience to keep the culinary traditions of Mexico alive with our consumers and customers. Vista Hermosa believes that the tortilla, used for centuries in Mexico, not only holds food together but enhances the flavor so we take great care and pride in producing fresh corn and flour tortillas everyday free of additives & preservatives.
We are looking for an experienced, high-energy team player in operations to continue supporting and driving growth within our fast-paced organization. This position requires someone who is passionate about Mexican traditions and delivering products of the highest quality and consistency while keeping the company 100% compliant with both internal and external certifications, procedures, systems, and processes. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-growing startup environment and are not afraid to roll up their sleeves, work with the team, and get things done.
Job responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Critical Objectives
- Managing the Daily Operations of the Plant
- Promoting and ensuring efficiency and safety
- Ensuring Compliance with company policies, procedures, and all food safety regulations (HACCP)
- Maintaining necessary administrative records
- Analyzing and Controlling Costs (Labor)
- Overseeing a team of plant employees Approx 50-60
- Provide Plant Manager with required reports. (Production, Efficiency and Disciplinary Actions)
Leadership
- Exemplify honesty, integrity, quality and trustworthiness
- Develop a robust employee and team development plan
- Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly operations meetings are conducted routinely and effectively
- Ensure performance management reviews are timely and constructive
Production Execution
- Oversee execution of all manufacturing, warehousing, maintenance and quality objectives
- Maintain Cost effective manpower plan
- Fulfill production orders on time and in full
- Ensure yields are managed while not affecting production quality
- Build a strong and effective production team with Direct Reports (Production Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor and Leads)
Continuous Improvement
- Reduce four waste streams: Time, Capital, Process and Inventory
- Establish and manage production KPIs
- Fill Rate, Down Time and Waste
Administrative and HR
- Ensure all timesheets are up to date in a timely manner for weekly payroll reporting
- Interview, Hire, Terminate and Onboard new employees as needed
- Work directly with HR on HR initiatives
- Keep employee documents up to date (Workers Comp, Leave of Absence, etc.)
General requirements for these positions:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain or equivalent
- Legally eligible to work in the US
- 4+ years experience in food manufacturing
- Flexible schedule is highly desired
- Good organizational and communication skills

Annual Salary Starting at $80k
