Serco, Inc is currently recruiting for an outstanding Facility Security Officer(FSO) to join our geographically dispersed Security Team in Niceville, FL - (On-site 5 days a week, Mon-Fri). You will support multiple disciplines of security for our employees and customers; playing a critical role in enforcing, monitoring, complying with the policies and procedures as established within the organization’s procedures, 32 CFR Part 117, and other government regulations as applicable. This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your TS/SCI clearance.
Serco supports a variety of customers to include the US Navy and the US Air Force as examples. You will be a part of a team of security professionals that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality security support. Serco’s Security Team has been recognized by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) with three James S. Cogswell Awards for security excellence.
In this role you will:
- Assist in the development of internal company policies including the security awareness program to ensure personnel are current on the latest procedures.
- Assist in preparing and submitting facility documentation to appropriate Government organizations to maintain facility clearances.
- Prepare and submit employee visit requests to support classified visits to include DISS visit requests and paper visit requests as needed.
- Assist personnel in completing and updating documentation needed to obtain security clearances and public trust positions by submitting required documentation to DCSA and appropriate agencies according to the DD 254.
- Process requests for Common Access Cards and for contract-specific badges.
- Support the Corporate Office in providing security-related support as required.
- Provide other comparable duties as assigned to maintain an efficient operation in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
- Provide consultation to government supervisory personnel as it relates to security policies and procedures and assist the employees in the process established.
- Interface with facility and base level managers to provide education, direction, and guidance with regard to security issues, questions, or concerns.
- Provide support during formal security inspections and completing an internal review/self-inspection at periodic schedules between government oversight reviews.
- Assist with the development of and revision of security plans, procedures, and instructions as necessary in conjunction with the supported personnel.
- Present security education and awareness, security briefings, and additional training as required.
- May investigate security incidents and/or violations and assist in preparation of applicable reports.
- Collect, analyze, and identify the trends and potential causes of security-related incidents.
- Support classified computer systems and work with Serco’s local ISSO.
- Additional duties in support of Facilities to include office maintenance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Must be able to maintain/transfer your Top-Secret/SCI government security clearance
- United States Citizenship is required
- Facility Security Officer (FSO) Training must be completed for this position within two months after the start date
- A High School diploma/GED
- Minimum 4 years of related work experience
- Must have some knowledge of security processes with preferred emphasis in personnel security actions
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of DD 254s and subcontractor DD 254 flow down process
- Strong knowledge of personnel security to include clearance transfers, clearance upgrades, clearance initiations, and fingerprinting process
- Strong knowledge of VAR process – both incoming as well as outgoing VARs
- Knowledge of SAAR/2875 and other government specific forms
- Demonstrated experience with badge access control systems
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and be solution oriented and the ability to use standard office systems to include a computer/laptop, printers, scanner, copier, and shredder is required
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Great patience, arbitration skills, and flexibility with all level of customers and employees a must
- Ability to work out divergent view problems in a team setting a must
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Working knowledge of DISS, NBIS, e-APP, NISS, and the personnel security process are a plus
