Overview: We are seeking an experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) with an active TS/SCI clearance to manage and oversee all aspects of security operations for our facility. The FSO will be responsible for ensuring compliance with government and company security policies, managing classified information, and serving as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters. This role is critical to maintaining a secure environment for sensitive government contracts and ensuring adherence to NISPOM and other security regulations.
Responsibilities:
Security Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage the company's security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant security regulations.
Classified Information Handling: Safeguard classified and sensitive information. Manage the storage, dissemination, and disposal of classified materials in accordance with government requirements.
Personnel Security Clearances: Oversee the clearance process for employees, including the submission of clearance applications, monitoring clearance statuses, and maintaining records in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
Visitor Control: Manage the facility's visitor control program, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to classified areas and that visitors are properly screened.
Security Education and Training: Develop and conduct security awareness training programs for employees. Ensure that all personnel are aware of security procedures and regulations and that training is conducted on a regular basis.
Insider Threat Program: Implement and maintain an insider threat program, identifying potential risks and taking appropriate actions to mitigate threats.
Self-Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular self-inspections and audits to ensure compliance with government and company security policies. Prepare for and manage government security audits and inspections.
Security Incident Reporting: Investigate and report security incidents, including potential compromises of classified information, in accordance with government and company procedures. Take corrective actions as necessary.
Physical Security: Manage physical security systems, including access control, alarms, and surveillance systems, to ensure the facility is secure at all times.
Visitor and Travel Security: Coordinate with government security officials to manage foreign visitor access and assist employees with foreign travel briefings and debriefings when required.
Communication with Government Agencies: Serve as the primary point of contact with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other relevant government agencies on security matters.
Contract Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with contract security requirements, including DD254 forms and other contract-specific security obligations.
Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience as an FSO or in a security-related role within a cleared defense contractor environment.
In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, DISS, and other applicable security regulations and protocols.
Experience managing security clearances and classified information.
Strong understanding of physical security measures, access control systems, and visitor management processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, government representatives, and senior leadership.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
FSO certification through CDSE is a plus.
Experience with Insider Threat Programs and COMSEC (Communications Security) is a plus.
