Position Summary: This position leads and directs the facility operations and building maintenance activities of the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA), a 24-7 facility occupying over 7.5 million square feet of property. The Facility Manager is a key strategic contributor on the AATC Management team.
The AATC Facility Manager directs a team responsible for overseeing a diversified group of contracted vendor partners providing: HVAC/Utility services, vertical transportation maintenance, baggage system maintenance, general building maintenance, and pavement repairs, etc. Provides for the development and implementation of strategic facilities initiatives and ensures regulatory compliance in all aspects related to the facilities operation.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees the facility and building maintenance activities (general building maintenance & repairs, HVAC, vertical transportation, electrical, plumbing, and baggage system maintenance, etc.) to ensure consistent delivery by contract vendor partners.
- Provides leadership, directs, coaches, and develops staff to achieve individual and departmental performance goals and company objectives.
o Determines preventive maintenance schedules.
o Develops departmental processes and standards in support of overall corporate objectives.
- Support and drives AATC’s Asset Management policy and plan.
- Drives development and implementation of best practices, continuous improvement efforts and innovation to deliver greater efficiency and quality.
- Evaluates and ensures staff training needs are met.
- Oversees activities related to building systems, engineering and operations, repairs and maintenance, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have a valid GA driver’s license and driving record void of recent major moving violations.
- Must be able to pass requirements for approval for an ATL badge with customs seal. This includes a 10-year background search by fingerprint analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or 10+ years in building maintenance/ construction experience preferred.
- 5 + years management experience in positions of increasing responsibility and authority supervising employees involved in the construction, maintenance and/or operation of complex structures and systems in a large commercial facility.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule in a 24-7 team-based environment.
- Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, data analytic tools and/or other applications used in building maintenance tools.
