About the Job
This position directs and coordinates activities of maintenance team engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of tools and equipment, and in maintenance of facility and grounds. Coordinates projects internally and externally using vendors, contractors, and company employees. Has some environmental responsibilities and supports sister companies as needed.
AN OVERVIEW OF WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Review repair and PM orders to determine work priorities
- Coordinate activities of maintenance personnel repairing, fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to be able to process customer supplied products in a safe, efficient, and economical fashion.
- Develops and coordinates preventative maintenance program in conjunction with Plant Management and maintenance team
- Review production, quality control, environmental management criteria, maintenance reports, and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
- Directs training of workers to increase skills and improve work performance
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance within operational standards
- Identify and aid in implementing process improvements for heat treat & deburr
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to troubleshoot equipment and systems
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure inspections and calibrations are completed
- Locate and order parts for equipment
- Ensure proper inventory is maintained for equipment and operating supplies as needed
- Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the maintenance department and technicians
- Recommend improvement ideas and implement changes
- Manage outside contractors for projects and repairs within scope of work
- Troubleshoot internal network systems and communicate issues to external technicians
- Manage after hours repairs and breakdowns
- Ensure compliance to Environmental and safety requirements, working independently, with outside consultants, staff EHS, or other management personal
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required:
- At least a High School Diploma or equivalent with maintenance coordination experience
- Electrical experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Mathematical aptitude (strategic analysis & algebra)
- Organizational skills
- Proficient with computers (MS Office)
- Driver's license
- Combustion training
- Personnel Lift certified
- Fork Truck certified
- ARC Flash
- LOTO
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree related to engineering, manufacturing or quality, with 3-5 years of maintenance experience.
- Formal metallurgic education and heat treat experience
- Willing to attend seminars and/or classes

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent with maintenance coordination experience or a Bachelor's degree related to engineering, manufacturing or quality, with 3-5 years of maintenance experience.
The work environment is split between office and production areas. The production environment may reach temperatures of 115 degrees Fahrenheit and average noise exposure of 80 decibels.
