JOB SUMMARY: Organizes and directs maintenance functions and facility operations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to assist in the general maintenance of grounds.
- Ability to follow oral and written direction.
- Ability to assist in the proper care and use of janitorial equipment.
- Ability to attend in-service training programs for janitorial employees.
- Ability to observe infection control procedures related to maintenance.
- Ability to come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Ability to observe all facility safety policies and procedures, infection control policies and procedures, Residents' Rights policies at all times and to assume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook.
- Ability to accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Ability to hear, see, feel, smell and speak adequately to perform the functions of the job.
- Ability to work in inside and outside environmental conditions as necessary to perform the functions of the job.
- Ability to work in extreme cold temperatures below 32 degrees or extreme heat temperatures above 100 degrees more than one hour at a time to perform the functions of the job.
- Ability to work in an area exposed to bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards, respiratory and chemical hazards.
- Ability to drive company vehicles, have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

PHYSICAL CAPACITIES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Employees are subject to the risks inherent to working in a healthcare facility. The physical activities of this position involve: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, standing and stooping. An individual in this position will be required to carry or lift weights in excess of 100 pounds. These activities must be adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a technical school preferred.
Licensure: N/A
Work Experience: At least 3 years experience in maintenance
Skills: Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators and allied machinery as well as the various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Traits: Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by maintenance.
