About the Job
Transportation/Facility Bus Driver will work under the supervision of the Administrator/Maintenance Director and will be responsible for the transit and safety of the residents. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
JOB DUTIES - Transportation/Bus Driver:
1. Prior to driving the bus/van, proper instruction and/or training will be provided by the facility Administrator or designee to the facility bus/van driver on its proper operation
2. Portrays a pleasant, accommodating attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
3. Reports to work as scheduled
4. Attends all mandatory meetings
5. Per the procedure below, the facility bus/van driver will transport residents/staff to a designated area as required and appointments will be scheduled during the bus/van drivers regular shift:
A) The social worker or facility designee will notify the facility bus/van driver of outside scheduled appointments
B) Will coordinate the availability of the bus/van and arrange for supervision of residents as necessary in the event the family cannot be present for the appointment
C) Will maintain a log of all trips by documenting all travel onto the mileage log/trip sheet that will be located and retained inside the bus/van
D) Monthly mileage logs are to be filed and keep at the facility
6. Maintains van/bus mechanical and appearance. Completes daily check lists
7. Ensures all bus passengers are safely seated.
8. Observes speed limits and obeys road signs.
9. Reports and corrects all safety violations
10. Completes bus/van log daily and turns in sheets at the end of each month
11. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director or Administrator
Activity Aide Responsibilities
• Aides assist the recreational activities leader or activities director, helping patients or participants use equipment and supplies. Activities may include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, music or drama.
• Prepares equipment and ensures the safety of patients or participants in the activity.
• Assist in leading the participants in group activities, such as an exercise class or art project.
• Proper record keeping of equipment and its use.
• Assist in planning programs for residents, which can help to provide socialization, relaxation and exercise.
Education/Experience:
• Must possess a high school diploma
• Must possess a valid driver's license with F-Endorsement(No DUI convictions in the past (10) years.)
• Must be able to drive the facility van
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and/or holidays
• Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Must present a positive image of the facility
• Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin tests and one-step annually thereafter
Additional Skills
Activity aides should be energetic and personable to work with residents or participants. The aide should have the ability to motivate others to participate in activities. The worker should also be sensitive to the needs of each individual patient or participant
