About the Job
The City of Piedmont is a charter city of approximately 11,000 residents located in the beautiful Oakland Hills, overlooking the San Francisco Bay. The city, which is virtually built out, consists of established residences on quiet tree-lined streets. Within Piedmont's 1.8 square-mile area there are five city parks and numerous landscaped areas which offer wooded paths, tennis courts, children's playgrounds and picnic facilities.
DEFINITION
Responsibilities include setting up tables, chairs, and other equipment for events, assisting clients during events (weddings/receptions, parties, seminars, etc.), ensuring clients follow facilities' rules and regulations, and cleaning up the venues and putting equipment away at the end of events.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from the Facilities Coordinator. May receive technical and functional supervision from other management or professional positions. Exercises no direct supervision.
EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Light janitorial work
- Monitor facility use
- Open and close facilities as needed
- Event reporting to supervisor
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. required
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
As Rec Leader I - equivalent to the completion of the 11th grade and some experience working/volunteering in a childcare or recreation program. 18 years or age and older.
As Rec Leader II - High School graduate or GED, 2 years of experience working in a childcare or recreation program.
COMPENSATION
As Rec Leader I - $16 - $18 per hour
As Rec Leader II - $18 - $22 per hour
