As a Facilities Technician at Fair Trade Outsourcing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities. Your responsibilities will include conducting repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting in the overall functionality of our workspaces. The objective of this position is to be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and functionality of our facilities, the Facilities Technician will perform tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable working environment for all employees. This includes troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to uphold the highest standards of facility management.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC equipment.
- Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and issues.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules for various systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Perform regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Assist in space planning activities, including office rearrangements and furniture installations.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to optimize workspace layouts.
- Ensure that facilities comply with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Participate in safety inspections and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Coordinate with external vendors for repairs and maintenance services.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
- Act as a key contact for emergency situations, providing support and coordinating responses.
- Implement emergency response plans to safeguard employees and company assets.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment installations.
- Prepare reports on facility-related metrics and performance.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Facilities Technician or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs efficiently.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Relevant certification or vocational training in facilities management (preferred).
