SUMMARY: The Facilities Technician performs, as assigned daily, all installations and repairs of all machinery, appliances, equipment, and physical structures as well as care for the ground/campus.

Job-specific essential functions include the following:
- TEAM FIRST: Makes every effort to maintain a 'team first' spirit and atmosphere within the workplace environment, maintaining appropriate working relationships and promoting collaboration.
- Performs their daily responsibilities safely, whether working independently or with other team members.
- Visually inspects physical structures.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Maintains water treatment systems and tests water; sewage treatment plant; gas well and pool.
- Maintains heating and cooling equipment.
- Performs regular upkeep/replacement of all appliances, electric and plumbing.
- Repairs and paints walls, lays flooring, hangs doors, builds and repairs structures. Replaces locks, as needed.
- Performs snow removal and landscape upkeep, including tree trimming and removal.
- Ensures EPA compliance as required.
- Safely and efficiently uses tools including drills, saws and other basic equipment.
- Safely drives a variety of vehicles, including but not limited to pick-up trucks and tractors.
- Provides oversight to volunteer work groups.
- Performs on-call responsibilities, as requested.
- Uses computers, email, etc., and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and understand/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to perform the maintenance duties listed above.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to apply common sense.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and the internet. Ability to use email and timekeeping software.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- High School diploma or GED strongly preferred, but not required with at least three years of experience.
- One year of maintenance/facilities experience required.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License and a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable on agency policy, as job includes occasional travel to satellite offices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear to maintain safety.
- Regularly required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must be able to smell to maintain safety when using power equipment/vehicles.
- Required to be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to use hand/power tools, large equipment, etc.
- Must be able to be outdoors in various weather conditions for extended amounts of time.
- Must be able to drive a variety of vehicles legally and safely in the state of Ohio.

This position is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and drug test, satisfactory reference checks (emails were previously sent to the 3 references listed on your application), as well as the completion of a satisfactory Department of Justice National Sex Offender search and Ohio Alleged Perpetrator Search, as required by our licensing agency.
