Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and perform on spot repairs of Reverse Osmosis Systems and Deionized Water Systems
- Follow Coherent policies and procedures as they relate to health, safety, security, and all regulatory compliance requirements with respect to the position and job description
- Transferring of hazardous materials from manufacturing areas into designated satellite accumulation areas (this task requires experienced use of hydraulic equipment to move hazmat items that weight over 500lbs
- Perform on spot repairs of mechanical equipment such as air compressors, hot water boiler, humidifiers and HVAC equipment
- Become familiar with the layout of the facilities, location of storage rooms, shops, major conference rooms, labs, warehousing, and technical infrastructure of the supported site
- Proactively make the necessary changes to prevent failure of environmental systems
- Make manual adjustment as needed of mechanical equipment supporting manufacturing
- Perform all assignments in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and other facilities/administrative trades in a thorough competent manner. Performs furniture reconfigurations/repairs, furniture move/installation, office/equipment moves, minor carpet and floor repairs, interior/exterior building inspections, and other similar tasks, as required
- Respond to all work requests and assignments in a safe, professional and courteous manner.
- Learn all assigned procedures and expectations to perform successfully during emergency situations and respond accordingly when they occur.
- Conduct building tours and inspections of site facilities as assigned to identify and correct deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Complete all required safety trainings as directed. Observe and comply with safety procedures. Hold comparable expectations for all vendors that perform assignments on site.

Education & Experience
- 8-10 yrs. of industrial facilities maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge in chemicals handling preferred
- HVAC experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
Skills
- General mechanical ability is very important; competent use of manual and power operated tools and basic knowledge of commercial electrical systems, plumbing and mechanical systems, HVAC maintenance, Hazardous Materials Handling, general building maintenance such as painting and facilities trades process and procedures required
- Good oral and written communication skills required
- Excellent self-managed and independent work habits are essential
- Ability to interact with fellow employees, senior management, staff, and vendors as a service professional at all times
Working Conditions
- D-Shift 12-hour shift: 5 PM to 5 AM (Wednesday to Friday, every other Saturday)
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, carrying out multiple projects at a time.
- Candidate to work on-site in a cleanroom environment where strict cleanliness rules will be enforced.
Physical Requirements
- Employee must be able to pick up - motors, pumps and piping, up to 50lbs
- Able to lift and move 55-gallon drums.
- Ability to use ladder to gain access to the roof, ability to use power tools, test equipment, welders, soldering equipment.
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.
Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
