The Job Details are as follows:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the facilities consisting of 675,000 square feet in five (5)-building complexes situated on 100 acres. Provides technical expertise in the following areas: medium voltage and low voltage switching equipment, HVAC, heating boilers, general office equipment and kitchen equipment. As well as having maintenance responsibility for the Building Automation System, groundskeeping equipment and company vehicles. This role will work closely with Building and Grounds manager, Data Center Operations Department, project management staff and outside vendors and technical personnel for equipment support. Assist the Building and Grounds manager to support OCLC heating, lighting, plumbing and infrastructure to include emergency generators and pneumatics equipment. - Works with a variety of in-house and vendor support groups to provide routine and emergency service activities, and to resolve complex technical problems covering a broad line of electronics equipment. - Provides on the job training of maintenance and repair functions to Facilities Maintenance Technicians in their area of expertise.Responsibilities:
- Directly involved in maintaining and/or repairing a vast array of building mechanical equipment and systems as necessary and in an ongoing basis with specific priority to building infrastructures.
- Responsible to maintain plumbing including rebuilding and replacement of condenser, chilled water, glycol and hot water pumps and motors within Air Conditioning systems (HVAC). Service building and equipment water softeners, diagnose trouble and effect repairs for well pump controls and equipment. Capable of installing new plumbing in a manner to meet applicable building codes.
- Responsible to repair and maintain physical structures including roofing, flooring and floor coverings, walls and wall coverings, ceilings, glass replacement, overhead and motor operated doors and security gates.
- Assures the physical facilities and grounds of OCLC are free from safety hazards which might endanger the OCLC staff and property.
- Responsible to maintain electric systems including troubleshooting and repair of electrical controls, sub-floor wiring systems, miscellaneous equipment controls and lawn sprinkler controls. Installation of new secondary electrical distribution panels, sub- feeders and branch circuits.
- Assures fire equipment for OCLC owned and leased buildings and grounds are certified, working and in adequate quantity to contain fires until proper fire equipment arrives.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all OCLC staff, being aware that the purpose of the Building and Grounds Section is to provide a service to the internal operation of OCLC, for this ultimately impacts the service to our external users and their satisfaction with OCLC.
- Maintain and repair lawn and snow equipment. Repair and/or replacement of blacktop surfaces, concrete surfaces, exterior tile, lawn sprinkler system and related equipment, trees, sod and shrubbery.
- Incumbent will be on the off-hours contact list including being available for On-Call snow removal.
- Monitors the temperature throughout OCLC owned buildings to assure that proper environment conducive to good productivity is maintained in accordance with existing and future Department of Energy standards and regulations.
- Perform other duties to support the above listed functions as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Requirements:
- Position requires a High School degree and a technical degree or equivalent academic/experience combination.
- In-depth hardware knowledge of state-of-the-art HVAC, microcomputers, Emergency Backup Power Systems, Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) and industrial plumbing.
- Following certifications: 1) Material Handling Equipment, 2) EPA Refrigerant, a class I and class II required. 3) Universal EPA Refrigerant Certificate, 4) National Electrical Code qualified.
