Facilities Technician
Position Summary:
The Facilities Technician will play a critical role in maintaining the functionality, safety, and operational efficiency of the biotech facility. This individual will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure equipment, systems, and the environment meet high industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks, including dusting, mopping, and minor repairs.
- Address minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling wall gaps, and painting.
- Inspect and troubleshoot systems and equipment, including ventilation, control panels, and electrical wiring, to identify and resolve issues.
- Install and maintain appliances and equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and repairing restroom fixtures.
- Ensure the proper functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize repair work using tools like the ServiceNow request portal.
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors during renovations and projects.
- Manage heating, plumbing, and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Perform minor carpentry and handyman tasks as needed.
- Diagnose and repair broken assets while maintaining accurate maintenance logs.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to prolong equipment life.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to project schedules and timelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3+ years of relevant field experience in facilities maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand and electrical power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Familiarity with working in a laboratory environment, adhering to specialized protocols.
- Experience with managing and maintaining heating, plumbing, and safety systems.
- Wastewater Operator II certification is highly desirable.
