Position Summary	UNMs Facilities Management (FM) has a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Facilities Services Tech in FM-Area 4 that services the Southwest side of campus. The qualified candidate will perform a wide range of facilities services tasks including non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. This position may also be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, painter, and/or locksmith. Facilities Management is responsible for the care and upkeep of the physical campus environment. Totaling more than 12 million square feet of interior space and 680 acres of land. In addition, our department maintains the Universitys district energy system providing electricity, steam, chilled water and domestic water through its own distribution systems. Conditions of Employment	Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job. Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement. If located at the UNM Children's Campus, successful candidate must pass a comprehensive post-offer, pre-employment criminal and New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) fingerprint background check, and a continued successful status will be verified by periodic future background checks. All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications	High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications	Experience in one or more building trades (i.e. HVAC, Plumbing, Structural, etc.) Experience performing preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment Proven experience using hand and power tools Experience following safety procedures Experience in maintaining accurate preventive and corrective maintenance records in a portable recording device (iPad)
