Facilities & Project Specialist, Maintenance Worker
Full-time, 30-40 hours/week, $21-$23/hour

Overview: We are in need of a Maintenance Worker to work with our Facilities Team here at The Salvation Army to complete unfinished projects. Presently, we are down a Team member and need extra help. If you are a multi-tasker, able to work independently, customer service focused, have excellent construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical skills knowledge and a quick learner we would like to hear from you!
Responsibilities:Responsible for the general upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of buildings and grounds of all Salvation Army Properties. Additionally, responsible for repairs and maintenance of HVAC, electric, and plumbing equipment. Responsible for assigning tasks, supervising and assisting workforce in the performance of daily work duties and perform other related work as required.
- Assist with minor repairs to roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
- Sand and paint building surfaces as needed.
- Supervise daily staff, contractor, vendor, and volunteer or other workforce production
- Make adjustments or minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electrical systems
- Replace building fixtures (ceiling tiles, light-bulbs, locks, etc.)
- Utilize skilled trade/carpentry skills for special projects as needed.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies either manually or using hand trucks.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways or parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, snow shovels, or snow melting chemicals.
- Set up, arrange, or remove tables, chairs, ladders, etc. to prepare facilities for events.
· High School Diploma/GED required · Five years related experience required · Must be able to work independently with some supervision and support · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Use of computers as well as mathematical abilities (weights and measures) · Must be able to use small power and hand tools, extension ladder · Valid Driver’s License that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements. |
