Facilities Project Engineer - Reading Truck

About the Job
The incumbent is responsible for managing Reading Truck facilities and driving capital improvement projects, plant compliance programs, facility renovations and expansions, and cost reduction under the direction of the Corporate Facilities Manager. The Facilities Project Engineer is also responsible to provide technical expertise to support the advance the operations at Reading Truck locations.
The Nuts and Bolts
Equipment, Automation, and Facility Projects Execution:
- Working with subject matter experts identify and design initiatives for the facility and operational improvements
- Manage the implementation of equipment, automation, and facility projects ensuring seamless integration and performance optimization
Plant Layout Development:
- Utilize AutoCAD and Solidworks to design plant and equipment layouts
- Analyze layouts with simulation tools ensuring optimal workflow, productivity and space utilization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align layouts with production requirements and safety standards
Capital Equipment Expenditure Requests:
- Prepare detailed and comprehensive capital equipment expenditure requests, justifying the need, project benefits and outlining the expected financial return on investment
Project Scope, Timeline and Budget Adherence and Contractor Management :
- Develop and manage project scopes, timelines and milestones, tracking progress to ensure projects are completed on time
- Manage project budgets effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring projects are completed within budget constraints
- Source, select, and manage contractors for various projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, project timelines, scopes and budgets
Facility Systems Maintenance and Improvement:
- Support the maintenance and improvement of manufacturing and the facility's systems
- Develop conceptual designs and evaluate the effectiveness
- Manage the EMIS responsibilities to ensure on time compliance
Energy Reduction Projects:
- Identify, lead and implement projects focused on reducing energy consumption and improving environmental sustainability
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives
Required Credentials
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering Related Discipline such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Related Field or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role
- Proven experience in facility project engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Solidworks for plant layout design
