We are currently seeking an efficient individual for the position of a Full-Time Facilities Manager. In this crucial role, you will supervise several Maintenance Workers while also assisting in day-to-day maintenance of Mercy Haven resident facilities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and associated equipment.
- Oversees staff members in their daily assignments, following the general maintenance schedule.
- Performs minor and major repair to all buildings and equipment when necessary, and perform preventive maintenance to all properties and buildings.
- Meets with and provide oversight to contractors to ensure work is completed appropriately and within Mercy Haven standards.
- Coordinates with town inspectors with regards to permits.
- Conducts building inspections as scheduled by the Director of Facilities Management.
- Assigns work orders and assist with administration of electronic maintenance system.
- Addresses all emergency maintenance requests and issues through an on-call schedule.
- Maintains Mercy Haven issued credit cards, along with cost records of spending, reports and general correspondence.
- Identifies resident problems impacting their suitability as residents and notify appropriate staff.
- Participates in the recruitment, selection and evaluations of new staff.
- In absence of Facilities Director, manage and maintenance concerns that might arise.
- Assume other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing
- 3-5 Years' experience in sheet rocking and spackling, painting, home repair, appliance repair, tiling, cabinetry, carpentry, etc., as well as a knowledge of the basics of electric and plumbing required
- Supervisory experience required
- Computer skills required; maintenance app experience preferred
- Experience in the maintenance of multi-family properties preferred
- Must have own set of basic tools
- Physical Requirements: Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours, pushes and/or pulls 10-20 pounds daily, pushes and/or pulls 125-200 pounds occasionally, drive agency vehicle, ability to perform roof repairs up to 2 stories and lift heavy objects
- Works beyond normal working hours, days, evenings, nights, and on weekends and holidays as necessary.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (37.5 hours), with rotating on-call schedule
Location: Islip Terrace, NY with frequent travel throughout both Nassau and Suffolk counties
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Director of Facilities Management
Supervises: Facilities Lead Tech, Senior Maintenance Workers, Maintenance Workers
