About this Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of our 50,000-square-foot food manufacturing plant that operates in a refrigerated environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the building and all equipment are always in good working condition, maintaining a best-in-class preventative maintenance program, improving facility safety, partnering with QA and food safety, and ensuring continuity of business.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the work of maintenance and repair personnel, contractors, and vendors to ensure that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Ensure continuity of business by identifying and addressing potential equipment and facility issues before they become significant problems.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program that ensures optimal performance and longevity of all equipment and systems in the facility.
- Develop and implement procedures for routine inspections of the building, equipment, and other systems to proactively identify hazards to employee safety and food safety.
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, regulations, and food safety standards.
- Partner with the QA and food safety team to ensure that all equipment, systems, and processes are in compliance with regulatory requirements and food safety standards.
- Administer a facility on-call program to ensure coverage for after-hours emergencies and escalations.
- Develop and implement plans to improve facility safety
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other vendors to ensure that the facility is equipped with the latest technology, materials, and resources.
- Establish metrics to measure departmental performance on a regular basis and communicate this information to upper management and employees.
- Monitor and manage the facility budget, including maintenance and repair costs, capital expenditures, and other expenses.
- Partner with IT on crossover facilities projects.
What are we looking for in a Facilities Manager?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management in a food manufacturing environment, including experience managing a refrigerated environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of equipment and systems used in food manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and food safety standards for food manufacturing plants.
- Experience developing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other maintenance and repair tracking software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a budget and deliver results on time and within budget.
