Summary
Global technology seeks to hire a temporary HSE & Facilities Manager. Company is dedicated to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and effective facilities management, and seeks a highly motivated professional to join the team at its Cambridge, MA office. This person will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the company's employees, protecting the environment, and efficiently managing the office building in Cambridge.
Work location: Upon hire, company requires reporting to the office location on a daily basis. Eventually, there may be opportunities to work remotely on some days.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
" Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
" Conduct regular safety assessments and audits, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
" Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
" Provide HSE training and support to employees, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
" Investigate and report on workplace accidents, incidents, or near misses, and implement preventive measures.
" Manage and maintain records related to safety, including incident reports and safety training documentation.
" Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in HSE.
" Lead emergency response drills and coordinate response efforts during incidents.
" Execution of design, planning and complete restructuring of office security.
" Lead the development and execution of the HSE strategy for the site including (but not limited to) zero carbon, green lab, and safe systems of work initiatives.
" Oversight of the proper storage, stocking, and disposal of chemicals throughout the laboratories. Ensuring scientists properly segregate and store hazardous materials according to best practices to limit the risk to the people, the facility, and environment.
Additional Job Details:Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene) or equivalent work experience. High school diploma or GED is required at a minimum. 7+ years of experience in health, safety, environmental roles, and facilities management Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, environmental standards, and facilities management best practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. A strong commitment to fostering a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and effective facilities management. Familiarity with laboratory processes and ability to communicate in depth with scientists. Rapid learner and adaptable to change. Must be authorized to work in the USA without requiring sponsorship Must be able to meet comprehensive drug testing requirements, which include urine and hair follicle testing.
