Shifts:
- Primary shift November 1 through March 31 will be Sunday through Thursday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. This shift includes a 12 hour on call requirement. Available for 24 hour on-call during the absence of Foreman to perform facility related emergencies.
- Primary shift, April 1 through October 31, will be Sunday through Thursday, with flexible start/end time options, as offered by the Township.
- Able to report to work, at the Township Municipal Building, within 1 hour of call-out.
- Shifts may be altered for weather & emergency response situations.
- Available to work occasional weekends and nights throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall months for emergency response.
Purpose:
Perform manual labor tasks associated with custodial and general maintenance duties at Pine Community Center, Municipal Building Complex, Public Park Buildings and other Township Owned Buildings.
Essential Functions:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Displays exceptional positive customer service to township officials, employees and general public.
- Exercises caution, safety, universal precautions and best judgement.
- General maintenance duties will include, but not limited to:
- Use and operation of tools ranging from common hand power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to measuring instruments and testing devices.
- Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems and determine the pathway for correction through review of blueprints, manuals, online manufacturer support, etc.
- Complete repairs and preventive maintenance on common structures such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Perform general carpentry, flooring, painting, vinyl, drywall repair, installation, renovation, etc.
- Trouble shoot faulty equipment with complete or partial dismantling of equipment for repair and restoration.
- Perform equipment maintenance – unplanned and preventative.
- Generating and/or responding to on-line maintenance request order system.
- Snow maintenance: Plowing, shoveling, air blowing, applying chemicals to treat affected areas.
- Remove debris from parking lot, sidewalk and nearby areas immediately outside the buildings.
- Cleaning and sanitizing duties in assigned areas will include, but not limited to:
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, annual cleaning according to established parameters.
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, apply floor wax/polish, disinfecting all surface areas, restrooms, break rooms and other as assigned that includes common areas.
- Maintain sidewalks during all seasons – free of obstructions, clean and dry.
- Stain removal from carpet and hard floor surfaces.
- Ensure all glass and mirror surfaces are cleaned.
- Empty trash, replace liners, and dispose in proper holding areas, such as cardboard, recycle, regular trash, etc.
- Ensures and maintains a clean and safe work area including equipment and shop areas.
- Monitors the overall physical condition of township facilities and reports concerns to leadership.
- Use and operation of equipment such as company vehicle, gators, industrial floor waxer/cleaner, etc.
- Inventory control and monitoring, on a regular basis, for cleaning and general maintenance related supplies.
- Communicate with leadership, regularly, on safety concerns, equipment failure, supply shortage, incidents, observe or witness inappropriate behavior.
- Maintains and regularly completes checklists, cleaning/maintenance schedules and other related files, according to direction with accuracy.
- Adheres to building locking and security requirements.
- Assist with building or event evacuations.
- Participate in company training and meetings.
- General park clean-up.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Education, License & Experience Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- ACT 33 – PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
- ACT 34 – PA State Police Criminal Background Clearance.
- Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check – Fingerprinting.
- Mandated Reporter Video Certificate.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver License.
- Driver / Motor Vehicle History Report.
- Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) is a plus, but not required. Should incumbent have a valid CDL, classification needs to be Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with no air brake restrictions.
- Certified Pool Operator (or able to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Pesticide Applicator License For Core and Category 24 (or able to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Experience in two or more areas of facility maintenance such as: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, painting and carpentry.
- Previous experience with snow removal and winter maintenance preferred.
- CPR & AED certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear both in person and by telephone, smell, use hands and fingers, handle and feel; stand on concrete for extended time; drive a motor vehicle; operate machinery, and power tools; tolerable to cleaning/chemical/sanitizer odor and exposure; operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, stoop, and frequently lift a minimum of 60 pounds. The employee is exposed to year-round outdoor weather conditions as the position is performed indoor and outdoor setting with exposure to sun, dirt and weather elements. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to loud and requires the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
