Facilities Maintenance Technician - Nesco Resource

About the Job
The Maintenance Technician supports the plant needs regarding all production equipment, plant support equipment and building systems to achieve the production plan and improve process performance and preventive maintenance. Support and actively manage troubleshooting and preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment availability, minimize downtime hours, and optimize production. Duties are performed in a high-volume high-speed manufacturing environment where individuals are involved with overhauling equipment and the installation of new equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the installation and modification of integrated systems. Provide technical support where needed.
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule to ensure equipment remains in peak operating condition. Perform corrective maintenance as required.
Support PLC, vision, and motor software systems diagnostics.
Install and modify integrated systems to improve upon current equipment performance.
Interface with other departments to provide and obtain information necessary to complete assigned equipment maintenance, changeover, testing and return to operation.
Maintain records to document testing and operation of equipment in a CMMS. Maintain assigned equipment and work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
Coordinate activities to ensure departmental compliance to all Federal, State, Local and Company regulatory requirements. These elements include FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, EEOC and Company policies relative to the manufacture of product, lot control requirements, documentation requirements, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, associate training, and safety (equipment, associate, and material).
Perform these and other duties as necessary or required, the inclusion of which will not alter the basic scope of the position.
Work on special projects as they arise.
Actively demonstrate support through interactions with solid communication skills, attitude, dedication, commitment, respect, pride, and trust.
Knowledge and Skills
Practical knowledge of PLC logic, vision inspection systems and motor controls.
Must be able to read and understand procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, and sketches.
Solid computer skills (MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)). CMMS experience required.
Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills
Highly disciplined, problem-solver, logical thinking, troubleshooting team player with a strong work ethic.
Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
Demonstrate ability to manipulate various hand and power tools safely and competently.
Strong mechanical aptitude needed.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of five years of work experience as a facilities maintenance controls technician on automated assembly equipment.
Must be 18 years of age.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a clean room environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, depending on the machine.
Required to use computer or touch screen to enter work order data.
Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 35lbs.
Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
