Basic Job Functions:
The GMP Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of facilities in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all facilities meet regulatory standards.

Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Prefer previous experience working as a maintenance worker.
The GMP Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of facilities in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all facilities meet regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues.
- Maintain HVAC systems, including performing minor repairs and coordinating with HVAC contractors for major repairs.
- Maintain and repair steam boilers and condensate systems.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of compressed air systems and air compressors.
- Manage and maintain Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems.
- Ensure all safety regulations and building codes are met.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP standards in all maintenance activities.
- Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
Minimum Requirements of the Job:
- Knowledge of written and spoken English sufficient for internal communication.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, steam boilers, condensate systems, compressed air systems, air compressors, and CIP systems.
- Familiarity with GMP regulations and requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safe manner.
- Must be able to react intelligently to urgent situations that may arise and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Must be dependable.
- Must be observant and report facility needs to Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk on concrete floors for full shift period.
- Physical strength and mobility to lift from floor to waist level materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Physical strength and mobility to maneuver product drums, weighing up to 100 lbs. into position.
- Ability to push/pull items up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to hear speech and/or alarms through plant noise.
- Possess peripheral vision.
- Must be able to recognize colors, and shades of colors.
- Stamina to walk quickly for full shift period.
- Ability to climb step ladders and maintain balance.
- Ability to work overtime or extended shifts as needed.
