General Description
Performs skilled maintenance, repair, adjustment, and minor construction in the trades to ensure facilities are maintained to meet Tyonek standards. Assists Facility Manager in planning and executing facility maintenance and repair projects. Duties may fall into a variety of trades including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, energy management, fire and life safety, and keys/security systems.
Duties
- Performs preventative maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and related components; tests system competency and component devices and evaluates performance. Assists Facility Manager in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance work and recommends approaches to preventative maintenance programs.
- Repairs and maintains a variety of facilities systems, components, and structures; repairs building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection equipment/systems, sprinkler systems, sensors and related hardware and software; constructs and maintains indoor/outdoor facilities, fans, lights and related; conducts structural inspections for safety.
- Performs service and preventative maintenance on building and building systems. Some systems may be specific to aircraft related occupancies.
- Accesses and adjusts computerized control systems such as lighting and HVAC control systems.
- Performs electronic record keeping, in the CMMS (Manager Plus), related to preventative maintenance and repair of buildings, building systems, and assets. Tracks and completes assigned work orders and work requests. Updates schedules for preventative maintenance.
- Responds to customer maintenance needs via work requests.
- Track facility assets in Manager Plus asset management software.
- Responds to facility emergencies and closures due to inclement weather to ensure facilities remain operational.
- Assists with tasks required to prepare facilities for inclement weather events.
- Follow all safety procedures of Tyonek when performing all work.
- Available to be on call in the event of facility emergencies.
- Operate a Tyonek vehicle.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Utilize rental equipment as job tasks require.

Education/Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 6-10 years of facility maintenance experience. Two years education or formal training, or associates degree, in facilities maintenance trades may substitute for two years' experience.
- Experience with complex life safety and fire suppression systems.
- Experience working in aircraft facilities.
- Ability to read schematics and building drawings.
- Able to obtain a SIDA badge clearance through the airport.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management software. Preferably Manger Plus.
- Ability to utilize mobile devices to complete work tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft Software Suite.

- Work both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
- May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes.
- Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. while performing job duties.
- Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials.
- Use of hand tools and power tools.
- May be required to work at heights of 60'.
