Facilities Maintenance Technician - Campus Town - PRC Group

About the Job
The position is hands-on and requires experience and knowledge of building trades. The Facilities Maintenance Technician provides maintenance and emergency services for Campus Town, which comprises residential student housing and a multi-building commercial facility with ground-floor retail establishments. The individual will partner with the Facilities Manager to ensure that the facility is safe, well-maintained, and provides a conducive environment for employees, students, and visitors. Additionally, the individual will back up the Facilities Manager and participate in an on-call rotation.
Essential Duties
- Handle maintenance of student housing (private apartments), commercial buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds at Campus Town.
- Manage HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, landscaping, drywall, spackling and painting, carpentry, building fit, finishes, furniture, and appliance repairs.
- Inspect facilities and perform necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for facility maintenance, repairs, and expenditures.
- Support Leasing Staff by addressing requests from students and responding to emergency inquiries.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Staff to foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Follow safety procedures, emergency protocols, and evacuation plans.
- Conduct inspections to identify and address potential hazards or risks.
- Provide backup to the Facilities Manager and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Assist with overseeing maintenance activities and resources, monitoring expenses, and collaborating with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for facility-related services, such as janitorial, security, landscaping, and maintenance.
- Communicate with Management, Leasing Staff, College Representatives, and Corporate Staff.
Skills and Abilities

- Must follow protocol and procedures when communicating in a school environment.
- Collaborative and able to multitask.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of five years of experience with commercial and residential maintenance.
- Student Housing experience is a plus.
