About the Job
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining building infrastructure and manufacturing equipment, including clean rooms and CNC machining equipment. This role involves performing general maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant work environment to support both operations and engineering activities.Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across all departments.
- Align with the mission and goals of the Facilities department, contributing to departmental success.
- Prioritize and plan work activities, adapting to changing conditions and urgent requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including assembly, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of wiring, electrical systems, piping, plumbing, machinery, and other critical components.
- Maintain manufacturing areas, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support engineering initiatives such as process validations, equipment qualifications, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with vendors to source solutions for equipment repairs and refurbishments.
- Adhere to all company policies, including safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Record all completed Preventative Maintenance (PM) actions in accordance with company log instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to ensure work quality, accuracy, and thoroughness with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Proficient in electrical, mechanical, lubrication, pneumatic, DI water, sterilization, and/or HVAC system operations.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on identifying and resolving root causes of failures.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Preventative Maintenance Work Order systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and independently.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- General understanding of machining techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical education preferred.
- Competent in reading mechanical, electrical, and ladder diagrams.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a medical device and/or regulated environment (preferred).
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools (e.g., socket sets, wrenches, multimeters) and the ability to work with required PPE (e.g., safety glasses, ear protection, non-slip footwear).
- Background in electronics, electrical, or mechanical disciplines.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in material blending and machining areas while wearing necessary personal protective equipment (e.g., eye protection, dust mask, nitrile gloves).
