Pay Range: $28 - $36.30/Hr. on W2
- Will not consider without Ohio 3rd Class Stationary Engineers license or High-Pressure Boiler’s License.
- Ability to work scheduled shift as well as rotating schedule.
- Day shift- works 7a-3p on a 6 on 2 off schedule.
- Second Shift- works 3p-11p on a 6 on 2 off schedule.
- Third shift- works 11pm-7am on a 6 on 2 off schedule.
- Rotating Schedule- works 2-day shift, 2 second shift and 2 third shifts then two days off.
- Relief shift-rotates between all four of the above schedules while those people work their maintenance shift*
- *Maintenance shift is when operator works Monday-Friday doing preventative maintenance, general clean up, tower and chiller cleaning etc.
- This shift is rotated monthly.
Job description:
- To provide electrical and mechanical services including equipment and facility installation as it relates to site infrastructure and utilities, repair and preventative maintenance.
Essential Functions:
- Perform equipment and facility installations and repairs as needed by internal customers or as determined through routine audits (including but not limited to electrical, plumbing (boilers, pretreatment systems, stills, etc.), refrigeration systems (ultra-low freezers, walk in freezers & coolers, rack systems), HVAC (rooftop package units and systems with desiccant driers), chillers and associated pump packages.
- Work with various departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Complete emergency repairs as needed.
- Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems as established in department procedures and audits and required by regulatory agencies.
- Order and maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables and change tooling equipment Monitor Facilities and Manufacturing operating equipment on a daily basis, troubleshooting problems and inefficiencies and recommending possible solutions.
- Coordinate the services of outside vendors when necessary.
- Identify existing and potential operational problems and inefficiencies and recommend resolutions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining required documentation including but not limited to blueprints, plans, and permits according to Company procedures and the requirements of external parties.
- Document daily facilities and manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance activities.
- May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

- This position interacts with all levels of internal customers and external vendors.
- That interaction requires solid communication, customer service and technical skills in identifying needs and problems and implementing efficient solutions that are cost effective.
- Effectiveness in this role also requires thorough working knowledge of the assigned site's facilities and equipment, the related regulatory requirements, and the relevant technical training required to service them.
- The incumbent works on moderately complex problems where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
- The position requires judgment within generally defined procedures in selecting methods and for obtaining results.
- The incumbent receives minimal instruction on routine work and general instruction on new assignments.
- Must be self-directed and possess a high attention to detail.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent with technical certification in more than one relevant mechanical and/or electrical trade required.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- Advanced industrial mechanic skills and knowledge.
- Basic skills in industrial, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Basic experience and skill in sourcing and purchasing industrial supplies.
- Basic experience with air compressors, compressed air dryers, refrigeration, HVAC and Chillers.
- Basic experience with painting, carpentry and small-scale construction.
- Basic knowledge of 5-S principles.
- Ability to work in fast paced production environment under high volume/high quality standards.
- Ability to work overtime, off shifts and call ins as required.
- Work well within a team environment and ability to work independently, self-motivated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Follow company policies and safety rules.
- PC skills required including Microsoft Office. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
What will you do?
- Responsible for maintaining uninterrupted quality utility services from the Power Plant to the Cincinnati Site.
- Responsible for the operation and monitoring of all systems and equipment located in the Power Plant.
These include:
- Steam (Water and fire tube boilers -150 PSI)
- Compressed air (centrifugal and oil free screw compressors)
- Nitrogen (membrane generators)
- Softened water (softeners)
- Purified water (mixed bed deionizers and RO/EDI system)
- Reverse osmosis for boiler make-up
- Large refrigeration chillers (800 ton+)
- pH neutralization
- Standby generator
- Thermal Oxidizers
- Responsibilities also include daily record keeping, monitoring (including equipment reporting through the Building Automation System (Client)), testing of system components, chemical treatment of water systems.
- Performing routine preventative maintenance
- Following all safety, environmental and GMP procedures required to ensure uninterrupted quality utility services.
How will you get here?
Required Education:
- Must possess an Ohio 3rd Class Stationary Engineers license or High-Pressure Boiler’s License
- (Hours of experience and ability to obtain a license within 6 months may be considered)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and computer (PC and Client workstation) knowledge, including effective use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and internet functions.
- Strong understanding of all Power Plant systems and associated equipment mentioned above.
- Strong attention to detail, and strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience in managing and working with contractors a plus.
- Preferred experience, skills & abilities.
