About the Job
Our client, a leading manufacturer in Greenville, MI is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and ensure the efficient operation, safety, and maintenance of their facility. In this key role, you'll lead a team responsible for facility upkeep, troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and experienced in managing building systems, machinery, and maintenance staff within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Oversight: Supervise the maintenance team in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems, machinery, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing components.
- Team Leadership: Direct daily activities of maintenance staff, provide training, and promote adherence to safety protocols and maintenance best practices.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate and optimize maintenance processes to enhance facility efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve safety standards.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external service providers, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of repairs and scheduled maintenance.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure facility maintenance aligns with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor parts and equipment inventory, ensuring necessary resources are available to prevent operational delays.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document maintenance activities, maintain equipment logs, and report on maintenance metrics to the Plant Manager, identifying areas for improvement.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years' of leadership experience in a similar role
- 6+ years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Experience with safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental compliance practice
