As the Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will maintain the smooth and efficient operation of all equipment areas, ensuring all production equipment is in proper condition. You will also perform maintenance for all required certifications/licenses of the building and equipment that is part of the co-pack operation. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Perform and/or schedule the preventive maintenance and repairs of all packaging equipment in a timely fashion; ensure all maintenance records are documented in the CMMS program.
- Act as a technical manager skilled in electronics, mechanical and robotics, maintain extensive knowledge of all equipment and processes.
- Provide guidance and direction for long term repairs extending over multiple shifts.
- Communicate with management and customer regarding ongoing repairs and projects; coordinate the maintenance and repair of all equipment in the packaging area, including baggers, scales, robots, wrappers, air compressors and balers.
- Serve as the primary authority on repair and maintenance, and manage personnel assigned to technical and maintenance positions.
- Monitor and maintain all equipment and parts purchase orders, work orders, invoices, and inventory.
- Oversee contractor services, tech support and bids for all equipment.
- Establish goals, policies, and standard operating procedures for the maintenance department; train, supervise, evaluate, discipline, and recommend the termination of employees within established policy guidelines.
At a minimum, you'll need:
- 4 years of hands-on repair experience with an emphasis on production or manufacturing.
- Experience with packaging equipment in a production environment, including robotics.
- Experience with electrical motor controls, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and controls, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and operator interfaces, and preventative maintenance and repair of production lines.
- The aptitude to perform semi-complex mathematical operations involving percentages and time variables.
- Strong communication skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft programs, such as Excel and Word.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 6 years of experience in a supervisory or management role
- Experience with multiple manufacturers' equipment
- PLC and robotic knowledge
- Lift objects of various shapes and sizes up to 50 lbs. Frequently, and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Stand, sit, or walkfor long periods of time.
- Walk, reach (including above your head) and climb.
- Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull.
- Tolerate cold warehouse environments.
