About the Job
MGS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facilities & Machine Technician to join our MGS US Tooling team.
The Facilities & Machine Technician performs general and preventive maintenance for shop equipment, facility maintenance, and building repair for the US Tooling Group.
Below are additional duties and responsibilities:
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, basic prints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Perform general and preventive maintenance work on shop equipment.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production and support equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Troubleshoot general operational problems.
- Follow preventative maintenance plan for molding equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual schedule, or per customer requests.
- Re-calibrate molding machinery per annual preventative maintenance plan.
- General facility maintenance and upkeep.
- Building repair.
- Fabricate equipment as needed.
- Replace electrical fuses and switches; install and replace lighting equipment.
- Assist with the moving, relocation, and installation of equipment.
- Responsible for moving and storing hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Follow and comply with safety rules, regulations, and work instructions.
- Accurately complete required documentation for each assignment.
- Follow basic electricity standards and use of test equipment.
- Perform basic robotic programming.
- Support automated machinery production runs by solving technical issues.
- Responsible for training on assembly machines and robot set-ups.
- May prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Resolve auxiliary equipment issues as they arise.
- Any other duties as assigned.

Experience and SkillsA qualified Facilities & Machine Technician candidate would fulfill these requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program, or a four-year university program, in a related field of study is preferred.
- Ability to perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Understanding of basic hydraulic and electrical systems along with proper safety issues.
- Understanding of electrical and hydraulic prints.
- Basic understanding of ladder logic or PLC programming.
- Understand and utilize general safety knowledge within the work environment
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to fabricate.
- Ability to work independently.
- Understanding of basic electricity and use of test equipment.
