Overview:
The Facilities Manager position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety and compliance and to ensure continued operational sustainability of facilities. This position is responsible for start-up of equipment, preventive maintenance, changeovers, repairs, basic/routine equipment maintenance and optimization while following all safety measures. Lead projects, schedule repairs and maintenance to adhere to manufacturing schedule. Draft and execute qualification protocols and SOPs. Update and create drawings and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead maintenance team during routine PMs, projects, new roll outs or procedures.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production utility and facility equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair systems, parts, test and make adjustments to put back in safe operational conditions.
- Perform routine rounds to monitor equipment and facilities to detect faulty operations or equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to support electrical vendors.
- Perform simple machinist duties and set-up machinery/equipment according to specifications and/or directions.
- Perform maintenance actions including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, calibrations, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, work orders to perform service while keeping logs as required.
- Support development of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration Tasks and Procedures
- Support development of Equipment Operations Procedures
- Establish PM and Calibration frequencies in collaboration with Facilities and Engineering
- Assemble new or modified components, assemblies, and systems.
- Oversee projects, repairs or service done by outside vendors/contractors.
- Support quality audits and systems; CAPAs, Deviations, GMP investigations.
- Support cross functional teams on projects, and aid as required.
- Provide SME support on critical systems and spare parts assessments.
- Support Shutdowns when needed
- Maintain safe and clean work environment and maintain safety compliance
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with other employees.
- Assume responsibility to ensure work accomplished on schedule.
- Escalate and communicate downtime to system and area owners.
- Drive Continuous Improvement on matters directly related to:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/Work Instructions and GxPs
- Perform and assist with other duties as needed by Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications:
- Strong sense of urgency to focus on high priority task in a timely manner
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude
- Encoder and proximity switch experience preferred
- Packaging and assembly line operation diagnostics and repair desirable
- Angle drive motor and gearbox systems experience preferred
- Ability to evaluate and optimize system performance
- Performed system upgrade experience preferred
- Provide technical ownership of manufacturing equipment and systems
- Troubleshooting electrical systems, controls, drives, DC/AC control systems
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and familiar with MS Project
- Familiar with National Electrical Code, including NFPA70E.
- Self-starter, highly organized, systematic, and precise
- Able to multitask and have a strong sense of urgency.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Degree in engineering discipline desired, or equivalent completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred or multiple years of experience.
- 7 plus years of advanced electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, packaging/assembly line system repair or related experience required.
- Licensure of Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC/PLC, or extensive experience within the life science/ medical device industry
- Experience in industrial manufacturing with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC/electronically controlled equipment and CAD/Solidworks is desired.
- Management skills and leadership required.
- Knowledge of 5S/6S techniques and Lean Manufacturing Skills desired.
- Ability to read and follow P&IDs
- Valid Drivers License Ability to be part of an on-call rotation and have a reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to feel, handle; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and depth perception.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $120,000-$135,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
