About the Job
A. SUMMARY: The position of Facilities Cleaning Technician is responsible for performing timely cleaning and assisting general repairs as necessary, maintenance and preventive maintenance needs of facility, grounds, and equipment.
B. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Standards of Operations
1.Knowledge and understanding of Employee Handbook.
2.Carry out the meaning of the CSMD Mission and Vision statements.
3.Practice a culture of safety to reduce or prevent risk of injury, claims, loss or liability by utilizing the Risk Management and Infection Control Plan.
4.Perform responsibilities with a high-quality standard to yield improved compliance, quality, and patient outcome measures by adhering to the Quality Improvement Plan.
5.Be present and ready for work as scheduled.
6.Attend in-service trainings, departmental meetings and community events.
7.Work cohesively with team members.
General Cleaning and Maintenance
1.Meets daily with supervisor to discuss special needs, problems, and assignments.
2.Adheres to a sanitation and cleaning schedule checklist in accordance with OSHA and industry-specific guidelines.
3.Performs all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning requirements, including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, refilling dispensers, cleaning walls and light switches and fixtures/coverings, and inspection and replace of light bulbs as needed, etc.
4.Maintains lobby, waiting rooms and other clinic areas. Clean glass entiesy, windows and Plexiglas of fingerprints, smudges, etc.
5.Clean spills and / or accidents following proper protocol and guidelines.
6.Reports maintenance needs to Facilities Lead and/or Director of Facilities.
7.Regularly surveys facility, grounds, and equipment and report issues, as necessary.
8.Maintains outside of facility by raking debris, cleaning sidewalks and keeping entry areas clear of trash and leaves, with close attention to safety during inclement weather conditions.
9.Perform routine daily check of thermostats, air/heat flow, interior and exterior lights for proper working conditions.
10.Disinfects and sanitizes areas for airborne and pest infestation per guidelines.
11.Complete all assigned work order requests and mark "Complete" when done.
12.Responds to overhead calls.
Other Duties
1.Ensures the security of buildings through locks and security system at beginning and end of each business day.
2.Keep Facilities Lead and Director of Facilities informed of any safety concerns.
3.Responds to emergency problems if applicable to job functions.
4.Maintain skill and safety level to operate numerical calculations, cleaning equipment, precision tools, and manual and finger dexterity.
5.Performs other cleaning duties upon request of Facilities Lead and / or Director of Facilities or designee.
6.Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, may be asked to deliver packages, supplies and/or documents to a site you are assigned to.
7.Other Duties as assigned.

D.REQUIREMENTS:
1.High School Diploma or equivalent OR four years of high school AND two years of related work experience OR three years of high school AND four years of related work experience OR two years of high school AND five years of related work experience with an established business organization.
2.For substitutions, the candidate must be able to pass a Reading Comprehension skills test and a Basic Computer Literacy test.
3.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4.Must have exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
5.Must have a minimum of 1 year of janitorial experience in a healthcare setting; preferably.
6.Must be able to effectively resolve conflicts.
7.Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
