Job Summary:
The Fabrication Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance and repair of fabrication equipment within a meat processing facility. This includes ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
Essential Functions:
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all fabrication equipment, including saws, grinders, and packaging machines.
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on fabrication equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance to identify potential issues.
- Respond to equipment failures and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and coaching to team members.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including food safety and sanitation standards.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and codes related to food processing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, such as HACCP and GMPs.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, including parts and labor.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a food processing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of fabrication equipment and processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Certification in industrial maintenance or related field.
