About the Job
We are currently seeking a Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic for a client in Salisbury, NC. This position is temp to hire for the successful candidate, at a facility conveniently located with access to Highway 29 and 85.
As a Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to assist the maintenance department and/or the maintenance mechanics by creating, maintaining, and repairing the electrical and electronic components and equipment used in any department. You will assist in mechanical tasks along with electrical as well.
What will you be doing as a Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic?
- Repair, modify, design, lay out, or fabricate (with or without blueprints)
- Cut, fit, and weld metal using gas and electric welding equipment; perform skilled brazing and soldering; use a variety of machines, such as power saws, grinders, and drills, in completing work
- Interpret prints, drawings, plans, or job write-ups and apply fabrication or welding techniques to complete projects
- Assist mechanics in production repairs/installation, and removal of equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor
To be successful in this role you need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and do advanced math
- Detail oriented focus and well organized
- Ability to change from one task to another frequently
- Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds over shoulder
- Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools
- Experience to maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed
- Availability to work significant overtime, including Saturdays as needed
This position requires work hours 6am-4:30pm Monday through Friday (weekly overtime!) with possible hours on Saturday, the pay starts out $23-$25 per hour depending on experience.
